MY HOUSE OVER THE YEARS.....

Hey y'all.....hope you had a great weekend!

After my extremely busy week I finally hit the wall on Sat night and went to sleep at 8:30.....awaking Sunday morning at 8:45!  Whew....that felt awesome.

I am trying to tie up loose ends so I can leave for Highpoint on Thursday.  I'm so excited to stay in my 1.5 star Hotel with my girl Jennifer.  Uh huh....that is what happens when you wait to late to make your reservations.

I will be paying 250.00@night for all of that luxury also.  I feel kind of shallow complaining though so I will just shut up now.

The other day I was going through some pictures of my house and I thought I would share a transition of the small keeping area with you!

In the beginning [1993] This space was used as a kitchen dining area.

There is a table and chairs under the light fixture. What stands out to me are those horrible orange red oak floors. Please remember this was 24 years ago.

I am going to try and put these in order.....but I know there was much more "uglyness" in between!

The next ones that I can find are the shots from Better Homes and Gardens taken in 2011 by Sara Dorio [styled by Annette Joseph] and written by my friend Lisa Mowry.

I moved out the dining table and had the smaller drop leaf made. And of course the quote above will be in a design textbook soon...hahahaha

Added the cafe curtains for softness.

I hired Christina Wedge to take a few images of my house.....Same angle as the BH&G shoot but changed up a few things....lamp, art and of course pillows.

Duh.

Not sure where this image fits in but it was before the "new chair"!

You can see I am leaning towards more neutrals....

And.....here is the Lee Industries chair I got on super sale from Stanton Home Furnishings.

Large french basket came back in
Color returns for a hot minute I think.....

Back to neutrals....are you dizzy yet?

More changes:)  I had a slipcover made.....

I know this was at Christmas time and believe it or not.... it's my most pinned image and the post that has had the most traffic ever!  Weird.

The neutrals are here to stay.

Today.....cafe curtains are gone.....different light fixture, different pillows but the furniture has remained constant!

It feels like there were a lot of changes but the table, 2 chairs and basket have been there forever!

I am sure you guys have ton's of the same issue around your home right?

GREGG IRBY ART GALLERY

I have been shopping at Gregg Irby Gallery for years and every now and then when I am cruising down to the Westside I will pop in to get inspired!

They are famous for discovering promising and up and coming artist......representing about 30 different artist and spanning many different styles.

Do I have to remind you how art can change a room?

Take a look at some pictures taken from their website of installations.

If you know me then you know this is totally my style!

These are just a few of the fabulous artist they rep.

Here are a few selections that caught my eye!

I am actually working on a project right now that could use this bad boy over the mantel.

In my own home.....

Previously this gorgeous piece [one of a few originals I own].......hung over my mantel but now hangs in a bedroom.....

And my beloved swan used to hang here but has now been moved.....

Anyway you get the picture [ha ha I'm clever huh?] that a certain piece of art can make a room!

I wish I could hang longer with you today but I am off for day 2 of the photoshoot with Southern Home....yesterday was so long.....I got home at 7:30 and did over 17,000 steps!

Catch ya later.....

A NEW PROJECT

I am sure we are all getting ready for Thanksgiving....lucky me my sister owns a restaurant so cooking is something I can cross off my list!  But....I am still working and had to ask my clients nicely if I could have Thursday off:)

Here is some exciting news though.....

A picture of my kitchen from Atlanta Magazine Home!  Out now this very minute...whoop

My friend Lisa Mowry wrote the article and she made me sound pretty cool and hip:)  The photography is by Anthony-Masterson.

First project is a total renovation from Ladisic Fine Homes.

Foyer floors...yes please!

Ceiling trim!  So pretty!

The kitchen is almost in....

This Circa Lighting fixture is on the butlers pantry.....

Basement....

Club room

Clubroom plan.....

It's coming along at a swift speed scheduled to move in right before Christmas.

The next project is a second home down in Madison, Georgia for my neighbor who has the beautiful backyard.  I wrote about it here....

You can also read about it here

Anyway we strolled down to look at it the other day....because she said it needed a little bit of work.

Huh.....a little?

Hmmmmm......kidding right?

A brown sea of furniture and deer.  I have been working on a plan which includes changing out 10
sconces  that look like this...

Sprinkled all over the house.  Did I mention there are 10?

This one will take a little thought don't cha think?

Anyway....I gotta scoot for a curtain install this morning so I hope you all have the best Thanksgiving ever!
