KITCHEN TOUR

Ok guys here I am in Boulder looking at the latest project.....Lawd.....it is going to be quite the challenge!

More on that later because on Sunday I went on the Junior League tour of Kitchens.  I only made it to 3 houses....and I didn't get a ton of pictures....but I was definitely smitten with one of them.

You know I love a white kitchen....well really because it's classic and doesn't get dated as quickly....but this space was pretty awesome:)

The backsplash was perfection....

Loved the simple sconces.

The counter tops were marble and the cabinets were painted a taupeish/gray.

The hardware looked like a hammered antique pewter.

Loved the beams and these light fixtures.

This was on both sides as you walked from the family room into the kitchen....gah!

This curved cabinet detail....I remember I did read that the barstools came from Wayfair!

The next home was built by my friend Michael Ladisic....I don't have any pictures of the kitchen because I was too busy taking pictures of the whole house....especially the backyard!

Love the detail on the entrance.

When you walk up the stairs....you see this cute little window!

Loved the powder room off the foyer.

I mean right?  It was so beautiful....I died.

Yesterday when I boarded the plane [30 min before takeoff] I sat next to a woman who decided to eat a salad.  So while I was gagging with the smell [UHG]  she had a little routine going that almost sent me over the edge.

Three bites of the salad and then grab the water bottle....freaking twist the top off [which took like 3 long fast turns].....and chug it. 

Then repeat at least 10 times.  Swear.

Y'all the thought of a mouth full of lettuce and water.....TOGETHER  caused me to almost vomit right there.

Y'all I went to get an updated headshot the other day.....and I have to say it was right up there with trying on bathing suits. 

It's one thing to look in the mirror everyday and pretend that you still look 40 and a complete reality check to see your face right there on the big screen in all it's "oldness".......

So I went to this guy and he was good and all but when I was looking at them I felt like I looked like a "banker" [no offense to bankers] but that is just not me.  

I then called a friend of mine Tina Rowden [cause she used to do a lot of weddings and I thought she would be able to make me look like Cindy Crawford]  and she definitely captured my personality but still....why can't I just use the one I had taken 10 years ago....

A few weekends ago my friend Michael Ladisic was having a breakfast at his house for the Shutze winners.

I was there all day on Saturday zhushing that puppy up!

You remember this one right?  Yeah I like to pretend it's my house when I'm there....but of course there is that one small problem.....of his wife :)

Beautiful kitchen designed by Matthew Quinn.

If you remember they have 4 girls.....this is her closet where I hung all the family pictures!

Every pillow was perfect and all throws were casually thrown in their places as if they are always that way:)

Then it was over and I had to go back to my little cottage.....

And....the very best thing that happened to me all week is this....

My nephew and his wife had a baby.  I can't look at this picture without crying.....he lived with me for 3 years while in collage and I am so proud of the man he has become.

BEFORE AND AFTER EXTERIOR

I'm thinking after my fashion post everyone bought out the Gap!  Well you can't go wrong with the price and won't feel too guilty!

I'm going to show you how we change the exterior of this renovation [by Ladisic Fine Homes] with paint and landscaping!  I have posted a little about this before but since it was in Southern Homes I'm sharing some of their beautiful shots.

Seriously....same roof....some new windows!

Sometimes I walk through my neighborhood and see a dingy brown house and think that a good coat of white paint would be such a game changer.

This color is Farrow and Ball Ballet White and the trim is BM Coventry Gray.

Just cutting back the overgrown bushes..... 

It's so darn pretty now!

Changed out the oval windows and took off the small deck.

The white garden stools are from Wisteria.

Can you even?  Lord I would love to bring in a crew to overhaul my back yard.  That's the thing about Georgia....I'm good putzing in the yard April and May....even a little of June but dang when it gets to July and it's Africa hot..... I'm so done.  The heat....the bugs....I can't take it!

I'm on my way to Orange Theory.....even when you get old you still have to work out...hahahaha.

Thought for the day....seeing a picture of yourself at my age.....For realz......I think I'm looking at my grandma....or I am in complete denial that something is wrong with the camera.

The struggle is real guys.
