Weekend Floral Illustrations: Here Comes Spring!

Hi friends! Wow, what a busy week we had here last week! It seemed like we had important events and things to do every day and evening, and I was so glad when the weekend finally rolled around!  I was so looking forward to doing something to help me unwind...something artsy of course!

I had a lot of fun doodling around with some watercolor flower illustrations. I painted them up with my watercolors and then inked them with some pigment ink pens. These were nothing stiff and formal, just loose and fun— and they were so relaxing to do!

I love how they turned out so I scanned a few of them into my computer and turned them into transparencies, cleaned them up, and then created some cool products with them in my POD (print on demand) shops on Society6, Redbubble, and DBH (DesignbyHumans.)

These really got me in the mood for spring! I love how the products turned out - especially the bedding and pillows. I think I will be turning these into cards that will be available in my Zazzle shop. I think they'd make great Thank You note cards and Wedding Invitations!

THIS AND THAT

Hey y'all......what a week!  We decided to try and go to Florida tomorrow since our condo is vacant and you know what that means......nope.....I am not putting on a bathing suit silly people.

It means I had to get a shit ton completed this week.  I packed in 8000 client meetings....a presentation and today hopefully I will get all my paperwork done.

Boom.

So let's recap.

Had a meeting with my first One Room Challenge client! They are moving to a new house and we are ordering a few things in preparation for that!

I did this back in 2012 and for real she has not changed one thing!

My kind of client:)

I also had coffee with artist and blogger Blayne Beacham Macauley.  I am doing a room in the Atlanta Magazine Home showhouse down in Pinewood Forrest [yes it has 2 r's] and she and I are collaborating on a piece of art for my space!  She was the sweetest and we had a great talk.....

I love her range.....

Look at this awesome piece she installed in one of Melanie Turners projects!

In Atlanta you can see her art at Anne Irwin Fine Art on Miami Circle or get in touch with her!

She knew better than to ask me what my colors were:)

Here was the groundbreaking....

I have been busy scratching my head to figure out what to do as I actually have the tower which is basically 2 spaces!  Ugh.....

We will see if I can pull this off.

I spent a lot of time at ADAC looking for fabrics to complete my presentation and ran across this wall treatment!

You know that appealed to my texture....organic addiction!

I also stopped by a project to see some of the tile applications....

And if you missed this on Instagram....there is some good stuff happening over at Target!

It might not appear I did that much but there was a lot of trivial crap that happened....you know behind the scenes stuff like curtain install gone wrong.....etc.  Ah....the joys of design!

So we are going to get one of those epic Atlanta spring weekends with temps in the 70's.  Hopefully the weather will be good at the beach:)

A DAY AT SCOTT'S ANTIQUE MARKET

Last week was chock full of events.....I had a small office bookcase install and it was raining that day.

I walked out the front door..... carrying my bags of accessories headed down the front yard [wearing flip flops]....first mistake....and because the ground was wet and a little muddy [at the edge between the yard and driveway] I slipped....went down hard and heard the sound of broken glass.

Really?  Yeah....lost a few things in that fall....had to go in change pants and wash my feet.

Start over.

I did manage to go to Scott's for a few hours on Friday so there's that bit of good news.

Let's discuss the good things I saw starting with these pretty rugs.

I stared  long and hard at this beautiful neutral beauty!

This guy is also over on Miami Circle [Art Rugs of Persia]

I wanted to meet the artist Scott Kerr but he personally couldn't make it this month.  I was glad to finally get a chance to see more of his art since I bought a large piece for a project [on Instagram!].

Can't wait till it arrives and is hung!

From across the room I spied all of this black and white goodness and I mowed people down to get over there.....

I've always said if there was a Starbucks at Scott's....and then I walked around a corner and saw this...

Finally....but of course it was after I had put some bad cafeteria food down my belly along with some crappy coffee.

And what is a Scott's blog post with out a few pillows right!

Both Lori and I found this pillow combo yummy!

A couple of cute vintage chairs

Just some pretty stuff.....

Mudcloth fabric for days....

And below this is what I purchased because I definitely need more black and white:)

It's a new week.....and a new project which I am working hard at....[more on that later]

This is what I am doing on Thursday!

Which reminds me I need to get my act together:)

I am still so happy that my little Cami is healthy and for some reason with so much going on lately I took 2 weeks off from working out [never happens]

After going to Orange Theory yesterday my arms are so sore the only thing I can move are my fingers to type....hahaha.
