SHOPPING IN ATLANTA

Note to self.....don't take any jobs after October 1st.

Of course I say that every year as I am running around trying to satisfy all of my commitments....meanwhile my house has no Christmas decor and looks like one of those Korean missiles landed in my guest room which is full of fabrics and accessories for my installs!

I was all over the place yesterday looking for the perfect accessory for bookcases, bedding, pillows and just plain stuff!

After 9 stops I gave up and went home but I did manage to snag a few things.

First up.... I stopped off at Serena and Lily which just opened recently here in Atlanta.

I love seeing their fresh look up close and personal!

I just bought the coffee table above for a project and can't wait to put the room together after the first of the year.

They are heavily invested in Blue and green and I was loving it!
Didn't find anything there but did see a few things for future jobs!

Next up....it's no secret that I love Bungalow Classic.  I could go in there blind and pick things out for a room.

There is a new store in town which I was excited to check out....Hudson Grace

I am sucker for wooden bowls!

Of course this is where I gasped with all of this black and white goodness!

I headed back to Buckhead and stopped into Gramercy looking for bedding.

Scored there with this beautiful Matouk!

The perfect color!  Kind of exciting

I sent a picture to my client and heard nothing.  I then sent a text message to school her on the correct response..... and that would be to answer with emoji's jumping up and down in excitement.  It's a long day and I needed some validation:)

Next stop Web Marsteller where I can always score.

I love to put a beautiful bowl on the coffee table!

I had to go over to ADAC and order some fabric so I made a quick stop into Stark Carpet....and holy smackdown.....this rug made me weak in the knees!

My next stop was to Home Depot to look for some subway tile for the beach kitchen reno.  Y'all I REALLY messed up with the paint color down there.  Since I could not use BM paint....[it was going to be about 500.00] more I had to pick a SW color quickly.

I went with SW Pure White thinking "what the heck....if it says pure then it must be white".

Good Lord.  Mistake.  It looks so darn yellow I could cry.  I can barely talk about it but SINCE nobody answered my cry for help in my last post I was left hanging.

Um hello....remember me.....your buddy?

LIVING ROOM DESIGN PLAN

Happy freaking Friday.

I have a confession to make and I wonder how other people handle this situation.  I profess to being generally a responsible eater.  I don't buy chips and sweets because I know they will make me fat fatter.  For desert I might eat a yogurt or a Kind Bar [love those].

Here is where the story gets dicy.  I was at Trader Joe's the other day and [I blame it on the fact that I was very hungry] I must have blacked out because I threw these in my cart.

Now in theory I would eat one or two and repeat the next evening right?  I was polite and offered my husband a couple.

Y'all.....I hoovered through everyone one of them [total of 10] before 9:30 pm.  Not one ounce of self control.

I am going on record to say I am actually not a responsible desert eater.

Period.

True confessions are over.

On to design.

I shared the bedroom foyer project with you the other day and now I have the living room.  The is a huge room with gorgeous views!

Let's start with the floor plan....

This house was designed by Henri Jova and built in 1971.

And this was the real estate picture...

You can see I changed the whole floor plan because we have these 2 pieces.....

This one is on the wall where the sofa was.  The inside will be painted a deeper blue and the gold toned down just a little....

This huge piece of art on the opposite wall which is probably 6' x 8'

OK...stage is set.

Let me break it down for you.....

This Bungalow 5 chair with cushions covered in this fabric

Sofa covered in this beautiful deep teal blue! With the floral above as pillows.....

Under the large picture I selected this Lee Industries bench covered in the cut velvet fabric.

End tables on each side of the sofa.

Not sure about the lamps yet but these are contenders....

Across from the twig chair is this one

The fireplace.....still trying to figure out how to update this mirror situation...:) Thoughts?

Facing the wall of windows toward the view we have 2 of these chairs [minus the buttons]

Covered in the solid with 2 ottomans.  The trim will go on the skirts of the ottomans and the folded fabric as pillows.

Next to each chair will be these floor lamps from Circa Lighting.

And this coffee table from Serena and Lily.
For curtains this gorgeous scrim.....and because the walls are heavily textured I am planking them....

I would love to hang a chandelier but am told that can not happen because of wiring....silly electricians.....don't challenge me!

It has taken all week to price this baby out, check stock and drill down on what goes where.  So funny because after putting it all out there I have already thought of a few changes.....hee haw.

MADISON UPDATE

Good Lord y'all....yesterday [Monday] just about killed me.  I started putting out "design" fires at 9:30 and the fun never stopped.

I was installing curtains at my Madison project and when we opened the hardware box there was only one rod instead of 2.  Whaaaaaa. This would not have been a big deal except for the fact that it's 1 1/2 hours from Atlanta so it's not cheap to get these babies installed!

I learned that some furniture I was waiting for got sent back to North Carolina because of a warehouse snafu.  #designerproblems

Did I have a sign on my back that said "kick me"?

Oh well....nothing some pretty pictures can't fix!

I have a few updated pictures of Madison [you can see all the before and afters if you search Madison in the sidebar]....

Y'all remember where we started right?

Clearing out the weeds and trimming things back [nothing was planted] I was amazed at how good it looked!

And the swing we ordered came....

Of course now we need them to make a coffee table and bench!

And we need cushions for the rockers....

Before of the bedroom.....

After with curtains [blackout lined from Pottery Barn]

And a new chair

Moved the other one into the bathroom.....and hung a gallery wall.

I am all over these short curtains....it's my new jam:)

We moved this bench back into the mud room to make way for the Serena and Lily one.

And upstairs the small table on the right got painted.....

We made notes for more updates....still have to get another curtain rod sucks unfortunate situation.

I've got 2 days to do a week worth of tasks. Leaving for Chicago on Thursday.
