BEFORE AND AFTER

Lord it has been a while since I have had a good before and after!

But before we get all "designy" thanks for all of your suggestions about my nasty rotten cold.  After a week and a half I think I've turned the corner.  It's weird because I feel like such a complainer...... and I think it was because I forgot what a cold feels like!

I better save that for something serious like cancer.

Lesson learned.

OK....down to business.  We had not gotten to my clients guest room yet but they were having family for Christmas and he asked if there was a way I could turn it around quickly.

You guys know I am always up for a challenge [even sick] so I accepted.

Luckily there was furniture so it was mostly the fun stuff.

They were waiting for the mattress which came on Tuesday.

Before

I wasn't going to reinvent the wheel since I only had about a day and 1/2 to shop.

After
I stuck with white bedding.....sheets from PB Duvet from BBB and the coverlet from Target.  I happen to have the black and white pillows that I bought from the July Market so that was my starting point!

I scored this throw from HomeGoods which was perfect!  I actually went to three other HG's looking for another one.  My sister who helped me with the install could not believe I was letting it go:)

At the last minute I threw these baskets in my car [that I already had] just in case I needed them and it turned out to be the perfect thing!

I looked everywhere for lamps.  Since the end tables were small I ended up useing these from Target.  The good thing is that using some less inexpensive things allowed me spend more on art.

It was the 11th hour when I stumbled upon these cute stools from Target.

Before

After

I scored this art at HG's....

There are a few stores I always pop into for some good accessories and one is Noah & Co.  I scored this pillow which again...the stars were definitely aligned!

Found some good black and white books from HG's [so glad they are stocking these now!]

Before

Here is where I had a slight fail.....
After

I could not find the perfect mirror for over the chest:(

Another piece of great art from Noah & Co.

I did find a black and white  phone cord and that made me happy!

And this boxed water from World Market right!

Love y'all....thanks for all of your support!

DESIGN PLAN FOR A 3 YEAR OLD

I feel like I dodged a bullet y'all.....I took Cami to the specialist on Wednesday and just walking into that place brought back memories.

What I mean is that I have left there twice before without a dog..... in tears.

So to get good news for a change was just what I needed.  They said her heart is fine and it is common to hear a slight heart murmur in a large very excited dog.  I didn't mind paying a chunk of $$$ for that information.

So it looks like this peach pit....poop eating crazy girl is OK:)

It's no secret that I don't have little kids running around so when I have to do research on putting together a little boys room.....I gotta dig deep y'all.

Here is the plan.  First thing I did was add some interest to an alcove where the dresser is going.
The whole room was white with beige carpet and it begged for these stripes.

Then I looked for a dresser that could stand the test of time....he is only 3 after all!

This Pottery Barn number is perfect and I found this mirror to possibly go over it.

I am always happy to throw in a little industrial.

These sheets [because he loves trucks] are adorable with some basic navy bedding so when he is tired of trucks we don't have to pitch the whole plan!

OK...here is where it gets crazy.  I discovered
The Land of Nod.  Hey no judging....why would I be shopping there huh?

What can't you find for kids.....I mean I want this for myself.....

The cutest!

I was looking for storage ideas and it was overload....

 I liked everything I saw!

Of course I love this idea I found on Pinterest [Crazy Wonderful] because it feeds my texture loving heart.  Baskets on the wall.

I headed over to Minted and found these cute pictures of trucks!
 One

Put it together and we are almost there!

It's a start and decisions still need to be made but We have to hurry since there is a new little boy coming into the family soon:)

I'm outta here....off to Scott's today.  I feel like I have an extra spring in my step getting such good news!

BEFORE AND AFTER

Another week has passed.....it seems like it's Monday and then blah blah blah it's Friday right?

Remember when you were a kid and you thought Christmas would NEVER come.....time was so slow.  Now that I am older it's just speeding along and I will be gumming my food before I know it.

I posted about this project before but just the living room....which is not quite finished.  Today I have a few updates on the family room which isn't complete yet either but heck it seems like that is where I am on all my projects!

They moved in and did a small renovation so after the dust settled it was time for the fun part.  A three year old and one on the way [plus 2 dogs] means performance EVERYTHING right!  This space will be used hard:)

Let's start with the plan.....

The room is kind of dark so we decided to stick with neutrals.....surprise huh:)

Before

After

So I used my favorite Lee Industries swivel slipcovered chairs.......

This cute end table we ordered from Anthropologie......

The end tables are from Pottery Barn.....I used glass because we kept the trunk coffee table [for storage] and it's nice to add some breathing space.

Since we wanted something light on the floors we used this indoor/outdoor carpet cut and bound.

On the plus side it is pretty soft and not scratchy at all.

Before

After

This gorgeous sofa [from Charles Stewart Furniture] is covered in Crypton performance fabric.  It's major comfy and I like that it has the pretty modern wood legs....paring nicely with the skirts on the chairs.

Before

I worked on the bookshelves....using my friendly Homegoods and Target for a few trinkets:)

I scored these lamps at Homegoods and they could not be more perfect.....just enough texture and the beige lampshade.

So there are still some changes coming.....but it's a good start!

Hope you guys have a great weekend....last night my husband and I celebrated our 24th anniversary.
We actually eloped to Ringgold Georgia:)

This is pretty much the only picture we have and it cost 10.00 to have them take it!  I know right.....

The hair.
The white t shirt and black vest.
The decor.

Judge away......
