PROJECT #CAMERAREADYINTERIORS

Did I tell you about my photoshoot?  Oh yeah I did....in fact I blabbed about it for about 3 weeks right?  Well I got a sneak peek at the shots and y'all I am giddy with excitement.  It's a whole bunch of black and whiteness all over the pages!

Who is happy about that?

Me.

My friend Jana Bek asked me to partner with her and 23 other designers to celebrate the talent of interior photographers.  We all know that a good photographer can make a room go from ho hum to beautiful with their skills!

I have experienced that many times in my career!

I just recently worked with Anthony-Masterson [anthony.masterson on Instagram] at my house and I am smitten with the hip vibe they bring to a shoot....

I love this shot.....

This was my sister's ORC a few years back!

The first time my house was photographed for Better Homes and Gardens the beautiful and talented Sarah Dorio showed up! [Sarah Dorio on Instagram]

Seeing this makes me a little nostalgic....ha ha!

Last fall I worked with Erica George Dines [Erica George Dines on Instagram] on Michael Ladisics house for Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles.  She is the ultimate professional.

This was one of my favorite shots of the dining room.

And I loved the light on this one....

Another photographer who's skills are unmatched is Emily Followill. [efollowill on Instagram]

Just look at this beautiful shot from a showhouse a few years back.
Melanie Turner

Her book came out last year!

And last my good friend Tina Rowden [Tina Rowden on Instagram]

Tina is a wedding photographer but also does interiors.
This was one of my favorite shots from Michaels previous house.

I hope you will check out these other designers and their favorite photographers today and on Instagram #camerareadyinteriors

When I look back over some of my pitiful attempts at photography I cringe.

 Just what the heck was I thinking and why did I not hire a professional?

I am making a proclamation right now to do better...be prepared and call someone who knows what the heck they are doing!

New Favorite App {Origrami}

Any of you out there have a problem with hoarding photos on your phone? Yeah...me too! In the good ole days you just took the film to the store to be developed into lovely pictures. Well now with all of this technology it seems as though I have less and less pictures around the house. I have really been trying to be conscious of saving the pictures at least to my external hard drive every month or so. I know that when these babies come I am going to want to savor all the precious moments and I don't want them to just stay on my phone forever.

Well a few weeks ago I found this App and decided to try it out. You don't have to necessarily use it as an App. You can upload pictures straight from dropbox or your computer.

I love the different sizes and the throwback retro look to the prints. You can customize them to your liking with different backside colors, add the date they were taken and a description as well.

How cute are these little magnets?

I was so excited to get my pictures in the mail. Oh...did I mention that they ship from Australia for FREE? It is a small company run by a husband and wife. I love supporting small businesses...don't you?

The pictures turned out amazing! They are printed on a thick cardstock with a matte finish. I believe you can choose what kind of finish you would like. I chose matte because I wanted to keep these pictures out on our coffee table for people to look through when they are visiting and I didn't want to worry about greasy fingers all over my pictures.

I ordered the 4x4 square prints with a plain white back. I would love to know if you all have tried this company or another when printing either Instagram pictures or pics from your phone.

Aren't they quite adorable? I am definitely going to order more.

Happy Hump Day All!

**This was not a sponsored post. I just wanted to share my excitement about a product I love with all of you! **

Tuesday Treats #8 {Inspiration & Ideas around the web}

Thank you all for your sweet comments on our adoption and nursery progress yesterday. It really means a lot having the support from so many people. We are excited to see where this year takes us!

Over the past few weeks I have been working on some reader's redesign plans and have come across so many amazing ideas and inspiration from around the web. I can't keep them to myself...so here you go friends! My top 5 for the week!.....

1. Six Best Paint Colors That Work in Any Home
I love this article by Huffington Post. They showcase some great colors that can excite any homeowner when trying to make decisions about paint colors. They are what you call the "safe" colors without going totally white or beige. My favorite from the top six would be this pictures below... Rockport Gray by Benjamin Moore.

Traditional Living room by San Jose Architects & Designers Arch Studio, Inc.

2. My New Favorite App {WaterLogue}
So you might have seen some pretty neat watercolor pics floating around Instagram lately. That is because a lot of us have discovered this amazing new app called Waterlogue. It is only $2.99 and creates some amazing images straight from your phone. Check out my before and afters below... Just to worn you, you will be spending a lot of time on there..it is quite addicting! How amazing would it be to create a watercolor of your family and get it printed out for a sweet valentine's present to the grandparents or a spouse!? Yeah...the wheels are turning!

3. DIY Gold Rimmed Acrylic Jewelry Box
I saw this DIY a few weeks ago and of course pinned it to my DIY Pinterest Board. It is just adorable and looks like a pretty easy DIY. Just use two 4x6 acrylic box frames from Michaels or A.C. Moore! Genius!

4. Strawberry, Brie Cheese, Honey & Basil Crostini
Okay..how amazing do these look? I am hosting a Valentine's tea with some of my friends and family this weekend and I am thinking these are going to make an appearance. Easy and Yummy!

5. Jump off the Jiggle
It is already February! How are you doing with your New Year's Goals? I have really been into going to the gym and taking my Spinning and Inner Strength classes, but sometimes I just need to change it up a bit....especially if it is too cold to go outside. Ha! I love this circuit below. It is a killer, but you really feel like your body is working. Even without weights or the gym, you can take a little time out of your day for YOU. Go ahead and give this a try. Let me know if you can feel it the next day or not!

What neat ideas and inspiration have you found around the web lately? Do share!
