All Hail The Pumpkin! Amazing Fall Pumpkin Displays

I see them. They're everywhere. In people's yards. On the side of the road. In fields. On display outside of every single grocery store I pass. It used to be just orange colored ones. Now there's white, yellow, blue, green - pumpkins everywhere. Big ones (I like those), small ones (I like those too!), tall ones, squat ones, you get the picture. Pumpkins are everywhere. Well, at least they are where I live - in Pennsylvania. Pumpkin territory.

For the past few years I wrote blog posts about the creative ways that different folks display and gussy-up their pumpkins. They paint them, decoupage them, glitter and sequin them, stack them, transform them into spiders and cats and giant eyeballs. All of those are cool. They're creative and unique. But sometimes I like my pumpkins just - pumpkins.

Below I've collected some of the most beautiful au naturale pumpkin displays put together by some creative, like-minded folks. Which style do you prefer?

My Favorite Autumn Color Palettes

Yay for autumn!

My 5 favorite things about autumn...

1. The crisp, cool air and the smell of autumn.

2. Sweaters & hoodies and cozy fall clothes.

3. Campfires and bonfires - there is nothing like a marshmallow toasted over a campfire! Yum.

4. Autumn foods! Bring on the stews, cream soups, and autumn roasts!

5. The colors of fall!

Okay, so to be honest, I have a lot more than 5 favorite things about fall...but my whole point of this post is to celebrate the colors. For this, we look to nature, and to food. Trees, woods, the changing colors of leaves, autumn fruits and vegetables, and spices to name a few.

Check out these great autumn color palettes and be inspired. Happy fall!

DIY Autumn Wreaths That You Can Make

What better way to welcome autumn and the change of seasons than to create your own fall wreath?

Intimidated by the thought of crafting your own autumn wreath? Don't be! You can collect plenty of free materials from nature - many in your own backyard (think leaves, acorns, twigs and branches) and there are many materials that you can purchase at dollar stores (wreath bases, glue sticks, craft adhesives, craft flowers) for the price of a fancy coffee or two. Even better, create your own fall wreath using salvaged and repurposed items found in your own home (painted newspaper, old encyclopedia pages, etc).

Best of all, you can create your own autumn wreath to match your own home and decor in as little as an afternoon. So round up your supplies (think glue gun and wreath base to start), and check out this collection of DIY fall and autumn wreaths and maybe you'll be inspired to create your own! Not in the mood to create your own? Some of those I feature below are available for purchase from Etsy sellers...click the link in the text to visit their shops. Happy Fall!

I love creating my own version of MacKenzie Childs style.  It's not that hard since it's just squares.

I started off with a brown paper mache pumpkin purchased at JoAnn's but they can be found at most craft stores.
Then I painted it white with acrylic paint.

I added the black squares. Dry brushed on some blue and yellow accents. And added polka dots on top with the green design and stem

Fall Decor in Close-up ~ Part 1

As I have been going throughout this year, I have been getting rid of a lot of decor that I am tired of or have way too much of. I want to be able to decorate but not on the scale that I was decorating.

...Literally dismantling my home for the coming holiday decor. It was just too much
                               ...too much craziness.
I just got caught up in it all and

Teal Frame Wreath

I had a huge garage sale last Friday and really cleaned out the house. Now that I no longer have a booth at the antique mall and have been spending time with my new granddaughter, I feel like a weight off my shoulders...to get all the clutter out of the house and all the storage items caused by needing inventory for my booth. Believe me, it was a very popular sale that was sold out in 5 hours

Quick Fall Door Decor

It is begrudgingly that I am slowly thinking about Fall decor. Why?

I have been busy with vacations, preparing our rental house for new occupants and of course, our new granddaughter.

Plus, I LOVE SUMMER. I love the heat since I am one that is always cold.

Though I do love decorating for the changing of the seasons, I just know that after Fall is Winter and NO, NO, NO, I hate that.
