It's a Marriage of Pieces

This is a marriage of a cute table,

Paired with my sweet vintage ice cream chairs...

And I think they look great together!

When I received these chairs, they were painted green (below)...

I redid them into this version of themselves two years ago...

I added the gainsack stripes to this table sans any chairs...

Then realized that these existing chairs looked great with the

Cute-A-Fying a Rental Kitchen!

Recently, my daughter and her family of three moved into a 'new-to-them' rental.

She wondered, "How do I make this place look cute and homey?"

We were not allowed to paint, and though the kitchen is a very small galley kitchen (saved by a roomy pantry), it has new cabinets, appliances and flooring.

And...

This bungalow house also has very high 10ft ceilings throughout. All nice features.

Vintage Swivel Frames

All I wanted was one vintage swivel frame. I just like them. On a trip to see my son and family last year, I mentioned to my oldest sister that I was on the lookout for one.

She brought me a box full of them! And these left in the box are the ones that I haven't transformed yet! She collected them for projects and never did do anything with them. Now she is downsizing and wants rid of

Why I Call My Guest Bedroom The MC Room!

I love MacKenzie-Childs style and if you never heard of them or haven't visited their store or website, you are really missing out in my book.

The style is so fun and whimsical. I am especially attracted to their Courtly Check.

But I am not willing to pay their high prices! I find that it takes the joy out of owning something if it's just way over priced for me.

So I take my talents in

Guest Bedroom Reveal ~ MacKenzie-Childs Style

It's finally done and I can now show you the complete guest bedroom reveal!

This room redo only cost me the price of the new iron bed and mattress, plus the chair rail trim, but all the rest I already had! Can't beat shopping your own home for an outcome like this, can you?

So let's start at the beginning of this room redo...
I already had the paint. I purchased it at a garage sale from

DIY 3-Tier Stand

Who knew

that this pile of

JUNK

could turn out

to be a

fun and useful

3-tier stand!

I saw these made by Angie at Knick of Time and knew that I loved them so much, that I would try my hand at making one. Sure enough, it was an easy and fun project. If you don't want to make one, just watch for them on Knick of Time's Etsy account. Angie sells a lot of these.

I went to garage

Jazzed-Up Acorns!

Talk about

Cute

 And

Fun!

This all started when I visited my friend. Upon arriving, I noticed that her acorns were huge compared to mine...

That got me to thinking how fun it would be to create some cute but various ways to Jazz-Up her acorns.

First, I washed them and put them on foil, then on a cookie sheet. I baked them at 170 degrees for about 2 hours to make

Vintage Pedestals

I gotta say

        I

       LOVE

          THESE

            PEDESTALS!

I was given them from a friend. She wanted me to fix them up and sell them and split the money with her. Well, that is not what happened! Here is what they looked like when I received them...

I cleaned them, glued areas where they were breaking apart, and noted all the cool detail...

 I realized

Furniture Problems and Solutions!

The furniture problems...

1) I spilled some rubbing alcohol on my vanity top while cleaning earrings

2) I have bleed though on my painted vanity

3) I sold my vanity chair at my last garage sale

The Furniture Solutions...

First of all, I didn't know that rubbing alcohol was a furniture stripper. Now I know! How did I get to be 56 and not have the happen before? I usually use the

Ice Cream Chairs Transformation!

Don't you just love the look of

Feed Sacks?

Who knew that they

Would become so popular.

They bring back the simpler times...

That warms the heart.

If you remember this picture...

Of when I showed you the vintage wooden ironing board turned Welcome Sign (you can see that post HERE), that is also the first time you saw the green chair. I actually have TWO!

I first

Another Painted Fabric Chair!

 I am so excited

 to share with you

 another one of my

 half painted fabric

 and half upholstered chair!

I bought this chair from a good friend of mine. She had painted the wood and caning white, but I repainted it to be less distressed than what she had. This is what it looked like at that point...

I used it in my Green Toile guest bedroom because the green

My MacKenzie Childs Inspired Guest Bedroom!

I said that our house is finally considered complete.
Warning...loads of pictures below!!!!!!!

No more major tear up jobs that require my young-and-cute-handy-dandy-handyman being here, but I did enjoy him here and the process every time. However, it will never be complete as far as changing decor and decorating! You know how that goes. I thought I would spend more time just enjoying the fact

French China Hutch!

Be

Prepared

To

Drool!

I was not looking for a china cabinet, even though I have my Great Grandmother's china.

But, it seems when one has something on their mind, these things tend to find a solution.

I happened at a garage sale last fall and came upon this...

I adore French looking furniture. There were several things going for this piece;

 1) It's French

A Sweet Little Thing!

Just a sweet little side table made sweeter

with gray chalk paint and...

A bit of flair!
